Going Filming in Niseko!!

So I just left the group and Nozawa Onsen to head back to Tokyo where I’ll catch a flight early tomorrow morning up to Hokkaido, the northern island of Japan. Why? Well here’s the big news (!!!!): a week or so ago, just a few days after we arrived to Tenjindaira, I got the offer to join a film crew to be part of a production for a ski movie/documentary filmed here in Japan (I’m beyond excited…)! And clearly this is not an opportunity I would want to miss out on (even though it involves quite a lot of struggle with getting to Tokyo and eventually Niseko) . It will be fun to see what the skiing is like on Hokkaido and especially in Niseko that, from what I’ve heard, is supposed to be really crowded compared to what we have experienced so far here at the Japanese ski resorts on the main island Honshu. I guess the hype for that place exists for a reason though! And if everyone on social media is telling the truth it seems like there are a lot of well known skiers around that area at the moment.

It’s a bummer that I’m missing the traditional fire festival in Nozawa Onsen tomorrow night but I’ve asked the rest of the crew to take lots of pictures and video of it. I’ve also asked them to write some guest blogs to keep both me and everyone else that might be interested in what they’re up to updated!

Blllwwwuaaah I’m so excited for this I don’t even know what to dooo… Sitting on my second out of four transfers on my Tokyo-bound and can barely sit still – need to figure out a way to spend all this energyyy wiie!

Leaving this awesome crew for a few days!
