This is the place to be!

What a place. What a day. Sick ass mountains, Alaska style almost with tons of ridges, chutes, spines, cliffs and steep faces. The view from the top lift at Happo One here in Hakuba Valley took our breath away. Endless possibilities, unlimited variations for picking your line down the mountain and awesome conditions to get great footage of it. The first thing that came to mind (and then got screamed out loud by most of us) after our first really fun run down the backside was just: ”WHY do people go to Niseko?!” This is waaay more rad – some real mountains for a change! All we did on Hokkaido was to chase the almost non-exciting terrain that’s steep enough to actually be able to ski down property. It hasn’t snowed here in a few days but that easily accessible run we had was surprisingly still far from being tracked up. Quote from Olle: ”I’ll never go to Niseko again!!”

That was one epic run!

On our was back to the resort we passed by a dam down in the valley where Adam, Linus and I climbed down and walked around the river bed and just chilled out for a while. Then Linus felt like getting naked and sitting on a rock to meditate so that’s what he did…

Slightly further down the valley we then stopped at a beautiful private outdoor onsen that you can rent. The very helpful staff at the visitor center had organized so that we would spend the afternoon there to bathe and film.
