Deep Pow, Faceshots and a Lost GoPro

Another windy day and closed lifts at Tenjindaira… It’s been snowing like crazy all night though so we headed for Houdaigi again which we didn’t really mind since that place rocked – no crowds and lots of untracked powder! Today Frida felt better after resting at the lodge for a couple of days to get rid of her sore throat, fever and cough so we were happy to be a complete crew again.
The snow was even deeper today and all our tracks from yesterday were filled in and gone. We spent the day just playing around, getting lots of faceshots and filming some of the craziness. Randy unfortunately lost his gopro somewhere in the woods and wasn’t able to find it but apart from that it was a perfect day! A few funny crashes and yes, I of course managed to ski straight into another wall of snow and perform a pretty ”skis click out to flip to faceplant”!
After the lifts closed we got ourselves an amazing cone of ice cream and enjoyed it before squeezing back into the van for the drive back to the lodge!

For a short while the weather cleared up and we got to see some of the beauiful mountains surrounding us!

When we got back to Tenjin a Japanese TV-crew were here filming something about why foreigners come to the Minakami area during winter. I ended up being interviewed about it and they did quite a lot of filming around here at the lodge so maybe we’ll end up on Japanese television..!

Quote of the Day:

”Jag dog. Jag är så jävla trött på att åka skidor alltså, det suger ju till och med. Det är fan det sämsta som finns”

Which can be translated:

”I died. I’m so f*cking tired of skiing, it even sucks. It’s the worst”
